A. MAGNESIA BRICKS
Magnesia bricks are widely used in the furnaces and kilns working in alkaline atmosphere. They also have a good resistance to the chemicals in slags and they do not spall or flake under wide temperature changes.
Spinel is a synthetic material either synthered or fused. It develops excellent properties when combined with Magnesia.
The bricks made with sintered synthetic Mullite and/ or Corundum, are commonly used for the inner lining in metallurgy, chemical industry and power generation.
They constitute a sub category of the High Alumina Refractories.
Silica has good strength at high temperatures. It is used in furnaces with continuous firing like for the glass industry. Others applications are in the coke ovens.
